Resolutions..

Got any?
Looking back on the past decade.. mine haven't changed! What's with that? Did I grow lazy in my beliefs for change? Was I self-sabotaging? Or did I just take the easy way out?
I always had 3. One for Body/Mind/Spirit.
1) Body- lose 20# - hopefully w/ a magic pill, sans exercise.
2) Mind- Learn Italian- hopefully by osmosis in listening to tapes.
3) Spirit- Meditate 20 minutes a day- whenever I had some time to spare, & my hair was just right.

Hmmmmm.. I wonder why that didn't work for me.
So this year I'm shaking things up a little. Becoming a tad more realistic, while still reaching for some goals.
Hence:
1) Body- This year I was diagnosed hypertensive & diabetic. Time for some maintenance here! This year I resolve to eat healthier, to exercise regularly & to monitor for self-healing.
I will be kinder & gentler with this body that I've been loaned for this time around. I will not be so critical & self-effacing. Realizing that the aging process is part of life, & no one gets out of here alive.. I resolve to enjoy the ride!
2) Mind- I have about 1500 books on my bookshelves right here & now. Never been read.. paid top $ for them.. just waiting my perusal. I think it's time. I may not get through all of them before I transition to the big library in the sky.. but I should go out trying, yes? I resolve to read a good book every week.. be it poetry, the classics or a beach read.
3) Spirit- I'm not going to try to limit or measure my co-Divinity here. I'm thinking I should just be 'open' to what Spirit has for me. I resolve to 'listen', as well as speak. I resolve to express Gratitude in all things in all ways.

So that's it for me.. how about you? Tell me what your 3 resolutions might be.

Hello....from Angela

Hey there blogger friends. I just thought I'd take a moment to say hello and wish you a good day. I also wanted to convey how grateful I am in my life right now.
I think gratitude is the greatest prayer on the planet. So here goes...
I am so grateful for my closest friends/family...there are only a few but worth their weight in gold.
I am grateful for my children and for the fact that I get to spend my days and nights with them. I get to learn what they learn and we are lucky enough to share our lives with each other.
I am grateful for a husband that loves me beyond what I ever knew or expected could be possible.
Sure, there are things I desire in my world...but I also know that the world as it is...is perfect in its own way.
I am so blessed to be able to share my thoughts instantly with those I've never met. I am grateful for this sacred connection.
So, what are you thankful for?

The Law of Vibration

"Everything is always in Motion".

We can set things & matters into motion via our thoughts & actions.

These actions/reactions can be negative or positive.

Have you ever been to a mall or a crowded theater.. & you come home to find yourself somewhat 'saturated' with all this confusing energy? It happens to me a lot.

We can pick up other's vibrations just from our proximity to them.

When this occurs, I have to either sit in meditation to cleanse my aura.. or in the least, take a shower.

In the same instance, when I am feeling balanced, at peace, & at 'One' with all that is, I am creating a Vibration of positivity.. that others will pick up on, if they are open to it.

I did a self experiment back in the 80's when I first started work as a nurse. I decided to spend one week using only superlatives & compliments when dealing with my co-workers and patients. I 1st wanted to see if they would 'call' me on it & just tell me to stop the silliness. Then I wanted to see if it made a difference in my life, &/or theirs.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the vibration I had put out there, came back to bless me again & again. For every perceived negative happening, I turned it around to create the positive. I freely complimented the docs, nurses, ancillary help, etc.

At the end of the week, I had people telling me, 'I don't know what it is about you, but I just love spending time around you.'

By the end of the experiment, I began to tell people about the whole of it, so of course it lost its luster.. but I had proven to myself & others that we do indeed have an underused power in setting forth a positive vibration!

Try it for your ownself..

oops

sorry...it's been awhile since I've slept a full night....
The title of the last entry should have been:

The Belief in AN Energy.
What was I thinking? My grammar teacher must be so embarrassed.

Belief in a Energy

Law of Transmutation
(I know there are varying definitions of this law...but this is the gist I get of it.)

The Cosmos is full of constant whirling energy; it is the potential of all things prior to manifestation. That means it is up to us as to how we use this energy. Imagine, at a microscopic level, looking up around you...whirling bits of this and that, just waiting for its entry into the manifested world. Really, the forms manifestation can take are endless and limitless....how we manfiest this energy is based upon beliefs and this is what we experience. So you can see the power the Universe gives us. The law of transmutation is about people transforming raw energy into their daily experience. This flow of energy is for creating and is supportive of growth and moving forward in your spiritual evolution.

The Law of Thought.. just think about it!

Law of Thought__ "You are what you think"
Proverbs 23:7, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he".

Our thoughts have so much power.. the things we dwell upon, become manifested in our lives on a daily basis.
For instance, if I'm thinking.. "I hate to exercise.. I wish I hadn't eaten that bag of chips.. how come these sweatpants don't fit?" I am dwelling on the negative.. & like a magnet I am drawing that into my world.
If I put the kabosh on that line of thinking, & start contemplating the toned, fit & healthy woman I am becoming.. I attract that 'model' into my life.

Some of you have heard of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming, or NLP. The premise of the whole program is to model yourself after someone who is the top of the field you want to be in. For instance, if golfing were your thing (Lord knows it's not mine.. but anyway) you would study the moves, swings, putts, etc of someone like Tiger Woods. You would envision yourself making the same plays that he does so effortlessly. NLP masters say this 'envisioning' has the same value that actually being on the golf course & practicing for hours on end! Some sports teams have their players do this on a regular basis.

When we 'think' we are great, we tend to live up to those expectations. When we set our limitations low, again we live down to them.
Richard Bach made famous the words, 'Name your limitations, & they're yours'.
For today, let's think powerful thoughts! Let's live our lives 'as if', allowing our minds to embrace our own greatness.
Manifest a superb Destiny!

NOT AFRIAD

This is a short article written by 8 year old Aiyanna Hutchinson.

NOT AFRIAD

I know I may be 8 years old, but I have experienced something. Something amazing. You see, me and my mother were praying to Father/Mother/God while doing tarot. I asked if I was going to become a writer. I picked up the card and it said I would be a great leader and would publish a book. I was filled with such joy that I cried. From the second I drew that card, I knew there was an after life. I was afraid that there was no after life. It made me feel like I was vulnerable and unsafe. But as soon as the card appeared, I knew there was nothing to be afraid of and I knew I was a stronger girl. My future will come to me and I know that you might not believe this cause I’m so young, but this is true. I know there is a heaven. You have nothing to be afraid of.

What Does it All Mean?

Law of Symbols -- Symbols carry the meaning of messages from our guides. Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Symbology has been a mode of teaching and communication for years. The bible and other Holy Scripture are full of rich imagery to convey information. Through cultures and time, this law in practice has been a guide for us as we find our way through this experience of life on this planet. From the totem animals of the Native American tradition to the rainbows and doves of biblical stories, symbols provide the messages we yearn for and the meaning we need.

Whether it be a crow that flies across your path to a loved song played when you need it. You are loved, cared for, and remembered. Our responsibility is to have ears to hear and eyes to see and the heart to figure it all out.

Say what?!

"Law of Speech -- There is power in the spoken word. Thought forms the blueprint for reality, and speaking power into the blueprint brings that thought into the physical world. To say something is to make it real."

My Cherokee mama used to tell me as a child, 'Saying makes it so.'
I'm sure she was hoping that those words might reign in some of my taunts, threats, & general grouchiness. But this is a very true statement.

WORDS HAVE POWER! See? Even putting them in upper-case increases their power.
Our body and mind 'listens' to everything we say. They do not edit or placate or ignore, every single word that we say.
They hear & 'act' on all our messages. (Just as the Universe acts upon our requests)

If we look into the mirror & say, 'I hate my fat butt', or 'I just can't lose weight', or 'who would like someone like me?' Your mind & body take those messages & run w/ them. You will keep that fat butt, not lose any weight, & continue to search for someone to like your sad self.. because those were your spoken words.
I know I have a bad habit of saying 'Poor so&so..'
Those words will keep that person 'poor', if only in my mind. And so I will make a concerted effort not to say that anymore.

This is where positive affirmations come into play. When we make statements that reinforce the things we want to see in our lives.. the mind/body connection links w/ Spirit, & we see them manifested!
Changing the above 3 self-talk statements to.. 'I have a shapely, toned & lovely butt', 'I am at my perfect weight of ___#', & 'I draw positive, loving people into my life'.
Repeating those words w/ conviction & desire.. & voila! they are yours.
Call it magic, call it nonsense, call it 'truth'.. it works.
The change begins in your thoughts.. is proclaimed by your words.. & will manifest in your life.

Try this exercise. Write down a positive affirmation that is personal to you alone, 15 times each evening. Let it be the last thing you say before you go to sleep. After a couple of weeks, see what that thought & spoken word has produced in your life.
The author of the comic strip Dilbert, did this exercise.. asking for a best selling book. And it happened.
You can make it happen too!
Because 'saying makes it so'.

CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY

Law of Release -- You are bound to that which you do not release. Release that which is holding you down. Release it to the higher power to be released in minute, benign particles disseminating into the infinite universe.

The Universe is always teaching, and we are always learning. It's a constant. As I was writing this fabulous blog yesterday I lost it all. I got to the end of it, very proud of it if I may say so myself, and POOF! Gone. Like an episode of Dallas...it never happened. I was so livid...I knew the Universe was showing me something, pointing at the obvious, allowing me an opportunity to release it all. Oh our higher power has a wicked sense of humor. :-)
Yesterday I wrote that this was the perfect law for me to be writing about. We hired a fence man to put in a fence because our dogs have been inside for 2 years. (Count them, over 700 days of me accompanying them outside numerous times a day, screaming at them to get inside or they wouldn't get a treat, freezing in the winters, sweating in the summers, you get the point.) We are incredibly thrilled we had the money to finally put in a fence. So my husband gets quotes and goes with this contractor we know nothing about, trying to give him some business, knowing its not easy competing against the big companies. So there you have it, and here there is no fence. We paid half and we are still waiting. Now normally I would lose it. I would be very upset and suffer much stress. Then a voice said...wait for it. Let me work. So I said, okay.
At some point we have to release it to the Universe. When its time for me to act, I will. But I will not get in my own way or spirit's. When we release, we release our tie to suffering and pain. We let go, and let God. It is a power beyond comprehension, it is the concept of faith...simple and profound. I will not invite doubt into my mind and I will live knowing I am cared for and supported. I only go to places where I will learn.
I will wait for it.

The Law of Reflection.. whatcha see?

Law of Reflection -- "As above, so below." The universe will reflect back that which shines forth into it.

~~~~~
Remember the old adage, 'I'll believe it when I see it?' Well, the new rules say 'You'll see it when you believe it'
What are you reflecting back into the Universe?
Is it the positivity of knowing that everything is working together for good?
Or might the negativity of your thoughts be reflecting on everything in your life?
We know that everything we 'feel' about people, places, things.. are all perceptions. Our very own.
It's the classic old 1/2 empty, 1/2 full scenario.
Consider 2 people who go to see the same movie. For one it was an eye-opening earth-shaking event. For the other it was an insufferably long and miserable saga.
How could 2 opinions be so different when they're witnessing the same film?
Perception, clear & simple.
Neither one of them is wrong in their feelings.. they're just reflecting differently.
Perhaps movie-goer # 1 was riding the excitement of an excellent day.. she'd gotten praise at work, she was w/ her true love, her puppy learned a new trick.
Movie-goer #2 was reflecting an awful day.. she had a flat tire on the way to work, she'd just broken up w/ her true love, & her puppy got hit by a car.
Same movie.. a whole different internal diary going on.
When we purposely choose to reflect the 'good' in our lives, releasing the negative and not allowing those perceptions to fill up valuable space in our minds.. we are on the verge of knowledge that all good things are constantly coming to us.
Because it's all good.
Even the lessons learned & personal growth spurts gained from things we might have labeled 'unfortunate'.
Allow the Universe to reflect love, joy & understanding back into your heart & mind today.
And the reflections will be bouncing off everyone who enters into your life.. very cool.
Progress or Regress
Law of Progress -- Everything is either progressing or regressing. Nothing stands still.
"Nothing remains constant and unchanging. Everything must either advance to a higher phase or level, or regress back to a more primitive one."
This law pertains to the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of each person. It can also include relationships. We are either growing or regressing backwards...nothing is in a holding pattern. As with each choice we make, we also have an equal reaction that results from our choices. Everything is in a constant state of change. Nothing stays the same...except for absolute truth.
It is almost as if we have an innate desire to evolve in every way. It is the soul's urging to become self acutalized. We move forward or backward...but never to remain the same in every moment. The same is true on a broader scale involving the human race. We are always changing, cycling, and evolving. To stay the same is to be dead, so to speak.
I find that whatever lesson I am learning is for my own evolution which in turn progresses or regresses humanity as a whole. I'd like to say i'm always in "drive", however, I do regress in personal lessons and relationships. Even the regression can teach a lesson. The tall and short of it is that we are all on a journey and sitting around is not an option.
Law of Productivity.. get to work!
"Law of Productivity -- Turning the energy of our thoughts and of our work into a physical product is the process of productivity. Productivity brings growth and rewards."
Rather like putting footsteps into our mental plan.. we bring about our manifestations by taking that one (or 2) steps toward the goal. The Universe will always take the many more, to meet at us this point.. but we do need to show our intent by Productively walking toward the goal.
An easy visual,
You: 'I think I feel like Taco Bell today'
Universe: 'There's one 2 miles from here.'
You: 'Uh huh.. but here's McDonald's, so I'm stopping here'.
Universe: 'Okayyyyyyyy..'
Our obvious intent was simply fastfood.. not the Taco Bell we 1st expressed.
So we must set a clear intent & go for that goal. Then the Universe will create all the green lights & clear sailing for us.
Now, for me, the conversation early-on in my life went like this..
Me: 'I want to be a best selling author'
Universe: 'Fine! Here's a venue to begin writing short stories for.. they guarantee to accept your early work.'
Me: 'Cool.. oh look.. that guy is cute. I think I'll get married instead.'
Universe: 'Lovely.. after you have the 6 kids & a few more cute guys, we'll get back to this best seller thing, ok?'
Morale of this lesson:
Set your intentions with clarity & be productive in seeking that goal!
Law of Prayer
Law of Prayer ( or petition) -- Prayer is the catalyst that initiates a divine reaction. Prayer changes things. Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Seems this law ties in with the ask and receive concept. The experience I have had with prayer is a consistent one. When I pray in a sincere way, I find that the Universe is ever present and faithful to my voice. Sometimes it takes great strength to ask for things, especially things or characteristics you are scared of developing or attaining, and the wisdom of our Creator is always at work. I do believe in the law of attraction...you attract things into your realm merely by belief. This works for the good or the bad, depending on your thoughts and beliefs. However, I do believe when we are on our knees and do not know what to do or what to believe, Grace is present and ready to help us along this not so easy path. It starts when we are humbled enough or have walked into the wall one too many times...when we finally ask for help. We are always given what we need and the Universe wastes absolutely nothing. Everything works for good. Our part is to pay attention in our lives and live in a state of awareness...focusing on the moment and the cues of the Divine.
I believe our gratitude is music to Universal Mind. It sets in motion a calm, peaceful and content energy which only brings more gratitude. Sometimes we do not take the time to notice when things go our way. We can become used to living in a state of blessedness. That is why living in a world of duality is very helpful to our sense of perception.
May we all ask for what we need, notice when life moves for us, and bask in a perfect Universe that supports and nourishes us as needed. Then we will begin to notice that life always moves for us and we are grateful for all lessons...pleasurable and painful.
The Law of Praise.. (you look GOOD!)
The intent of the Law of Praise is to cycle & recycle goodness into & out of our lives. What we give out, we get back. It has a lot to do w/ the polarity Law.. where we choose to dwell on the positive rather than the negative in life, while experiencing them both.
When we offer positive & constructive re-enforcement to our self, friends, & family.. we find it oh so much more acceptable than the critical, depreciating 'tearing down' of egos.
And I'm not talking about the shallow, 'plastic' compliments.
I think there is something truly wonderful in everyone of God's children (Yes, even some politicians were once innocent babies.. & I try to picture that in my mind's eye).
When we find that bit of wonderment.. voice it.
Let that person know you see a bit of 'God' in them.. you appreciate the beauty, kindness, knowledge.. whatever it is you discern. Let them know.. now!
And watch the blessings flow back to you.
Not necessarily from that same person, or even in the same way. But the Law of Praise will return to you, & you will be blessed.
Just ask my husband, when I ask him, 'Do I look fat in these pants?' & he replies, 'You look perfect in anything..'
That man is well on his way to being blessed! ;o)
2 ENDS OF THE STICK
Law of Polarities -- For everything there is an opposite which is equal.
"You must have both poles and both sides of the spectrum, both positive and negative for either side to exist. It is impossible to have one side of the polarity without the other also existing.
It is impossible to have good without bad. It is impossible to have physical pleasure without physical pain. It is impossible to have happiness without unhappiness (emotional pain). It is impossible to have love without antilove also existing.
Note that almost all of the important things in life, the things you most seek (wisdom, intelligence, power, success, love, and happiness) are polarities.
In all cases, the negative side of a polarity must exist for the positive sides, the positive experiences = happiness that we seek to exist. Thus ignorance, stupidity, inability, failure, antilove, unhappiness, pain and suffering MUST exist. Furthermore, to know and appreciate the positive sides, you must experience the negative sides occasionally—but only occasionally. You don't have to live in them, (i.e. the negative emotions) much or most of the time, as so many people do."-psycanics.com
Polarity or duality offers free will to choose your life and your mind. You decide on whether you focus on the negative end or positive end. Do you live in a hostile universe or a nourishing one, as Einstein once mused? We can consciously make a decision on where we will place our thoughts and energy. The positive end of the polarity spectrum is where most want to reside, thus came the movement of Positive Thinking.
We must also understand that we know success from knowing failure, we know forgiveness from not forgivng, we know love from hatred...they are simply varying degrees of the same principles. We know pleasure from knowing pain. We cannot experience one without experiencing the other. It is all an Earth Education. There is no good or bad...except the meaning you attach to it. Instead of beating ourselves up for visiting the negative end from time to time...maybe we should remind ourselves that it's just the world of polarity at work and we are all learning the principles of life.
"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."- Anais Nin
Addendum: Calm..
My son mailed this to me today & I found it beautiful.. we have no idea who to attribute it to:
calm
"A time comes in your life when you finally get it ... when, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out ENOUGH!!!
Enough fighting and crying or struggling to hold on. And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudder once or twice, you blink back your tears and begin to look at the world through new eyes.
This is your awakening. You realize it's time to stop hoping and waiting for something to change...or for happiness, safety and security to come galloping over the next horizon.
You come to terms with the fact that you are neither Prince Charming or Cinderella and that in the real world there aren't always fairy tale endings (or beginnings for that matter) and that any guarantee of "happily ever after" must begin with you...and in the process a sense of serenity is born of acceptance.
You awaken to the fact that you are not perfect and that not everyone will always love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are...and that's OK. They are entitled to their own views and opinions. And you learn the importance of loving and championing yourself...and in the process a sense of new found confidence is born of self-approval.
You stop complaining and blaming other people for the things they did to you (or didn't do for you) and you learn that the only thing you can really count on is the unexpected.
You learn that people don't always say what they mean or mean what they say and that not everyone will always be there for you and that it's not always about you. So, you learn to stand on your own and to take care of yourself...and in the process a sense of safety and security is born of self-reliance.
You stop judging and pointing fingers and you begin to accept people as they are and to overlook their shortcomings and human frailties...and in the process a sense of peace and contentment is born of forgiveness.
You realize that much of the way you view yourself, and the world around you, is as a result of all the messages and opinions that have been ingrained into your psyche. And you begin to sift through all the junk you've been fed about how you should behave, how you should look, how much you should weigh, what you should wear, what you should do for a living, how much money you should make, what you should drive, how and where you should live, who you should marry, the importance of having and raising children, and what you owe your parents, family, and friends.
You learn to open up to new worlds and different points of view. And you begin reassessing and redefining who you are and what you really stand for.
You learn the difference between wanting and needing and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you've outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with...and in the process you learn to go with your instincts. You learn that it is truly in giving that we receive. And that there is power and glory in creating and contributing and you stop maneuvering through life merely as a "consumer" looking for your next fix.
You learn that principles such as honesty and integrity are not the outdated ideals of a bygone era but the mortar that holds together the foundation upon which you must build a life. You learn that you don't know everything, it's not your job to save the world and that you can't teach a pig to sing.
You learn to distinguish between guilt and responsibility and the importance of setting boundaries and learning to say NO. You learn that the only cross to bear is the one you choose to carry and that martyrs get burned at the stake. Then you learn about love. How to love, how much to give in love, when to stop giving and when to walk away.
You learn to look at relationships as they really are and not as you would have them be. You stop trying to control people, situations and outcomes. And you learn that alone does not mean lonely. You also stop working so hard at putting your feelings aside, smoothing things over and ignoring your needs.
You learn that feelings of entitlement are perfectly OK...and that it is your right to want things and to ask for the things you want...and that sometimes it is necessary to make demands. You come to the realization that you deserve to be treated with love, kindness, sensitivity and respect and you won't settle for less.
And you learn that your body really is your temple. And you begin to care for it and treat it with respect. You begin to eat a balanced diet, drink more water, and take more time to exercise. You learn that being tired fuels doubt, fear, and uncertainty and so you take more time to rest. And, just as food fuels the body, laughter fuels our soul.
So you take more time to laugh and to play. You learn that, for the most part, you get in life what you believe you deserve...and that much of life truly is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You learn that anything worth achieving is worth working for and that wishing for something to happen is different from working toward making it happen.
More importantly, you learn that in order to achieve success you need direction, discipline and perseverance. You also learn that no one can do it all alone...and that it's OK to risk asking for help.
You learn the only thing you must truly fear is the greatest robber baron of all: FEAR itself. You learn to step right into and through your fears because you know that whatever happens you can handle it and to give in to fear is to give away the right to live life on your own terms.
And you learn to fight for your life and not to squander it living under a cloud of impending doom. You learn that life isn't always fair, you don't always get what you think you deserve and that sometimes bad things happen to unsuspecting, good people.
On these occasions you learn not to personalize things. You learn that God isn't punishing you or failing to answer your prayers. It's just life happening. And you learn to deal with evil in its most primal state - the ego.
You learn that negative feelings such as anger, envy and resentment must be understood and redirected or they will suffocate the life out of you and poison the universe that surrounds you. You learn to admit when you are wrong and to build bridges instead of walls.
You learn to be thankful and to take comfort in many of the simple things we take for granted, things that millions of people upon the earth can only dream about: a full refrigerator, clean running water, a soft warm bed, a long hot shower.
Slowly, you begin to take responsibility for yourself by yourself and you make yourself a promise to never betray yourself and to never, ever settle for less than your heart's desire. And you hang a wind chime outside your window so you can listen to the wind. And you make it a point to keep smiling, to keep trusting, and to stay open to every wonderful possibility. Finally, with courage in your heart and God by your side you take a stand, you take a deep breath, and you begin to design the life you want to live as best you can". ~~~
Law of Permanence
"Law of Permanence -- An entity attains permanence when it remains integrated without the vessel that holds it."
This is the law that says the Soul is forever.
We don't 'die' y'all!
This earthly body is simply the vessel that embraces the soul while here on this plane.
When we transition back to our energy state, or 'home'.. and after a period of time communing w/ our truest soulmates, we reincarnate into new vessels.
I just find that the most comforting & reassuring Law in the Universe.
There is really nothing more that can be said or taken away from this Law. We are permanently attached, & forever a part of, the Mothership.
I recall one of my most spiritual 'Godbumps' moment, while sitting on Bell Rock in Sedona.. experiencing the vortex swoop of feelings.. & only being able to say, 'I want to be a vessel for Good'.
The perception of being a part of the 'space' in the middle of space.. was truly a unique sensation.
The 'knowing' that we are all one in that center of the center.
And that there is permanence in that connection.
How lucky can we get?
WE ARE ONE...What does that mean?
"Law of One (Oneness) -- All that exists is part of God."
"Chief Seattle was quoted as saying, "Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect!"
I found this online and I thought it summed up the law well:
"In Chapter '1', we defined the concept/philosophy of 'Oneness'. Briefly, this school of thought believes that all particles of all multi-dimensional realities are fragments of the consciousness of the Creator. That the Creator is internal not external. Therefore, by this philosophy, the forces of 'Good' and 'Evil' stem from the same source, the Creator. Well, this is not exactly true in the literal sense. At the level of the Godhead, these forces are perceived as different intensities of the same energy. God places no judgment on what kind of energy it is, man is the one who does. Now, perhaps some of you are ready to tear up these sheets! How could God actually create 'Evil', God is perfect? The answer lies in the Law of Free Will, defined as the right for all of God's creations to decide for themselves, how they wish to exist, how they wish to grow and search for communion with the Creator. This Law also implies that each child of God should respect the free will of their brothers and sisters. For God created all his manifestations or expressions of Him/Herself to be of service to each other, since each part, in truth, is an extension of all other parts. Thus, the concept of 'Evil' comes from Man not following the Law of Free Will and pretending that God is not within him. By the Law of Free Will, he may chose any belief system or philosophy he chooses. Since man is a part of the consciousness of God, and has created the concept and performs the action of Evil, then we can say that 'Evil' comes from the creator. But 'Evil' and 'Good' are balancing forces, there is total harmony in the universe because these forces are in perfect balance!"
..."Many great teachers or advanced souls have come to Earth, to remind us of the God presence within and our God-like powers. Jesus said: "Ye are Gods, what I can do, you can do and more!" (not exact, paraphrased). Other teachers like the Buddha or Krishna shared similar messages. As a matter of fact, if one studies, really studies, the roots of all religions and philosophies, you will see they all contain the same basic foundation. Teachers like Jesus were bent to Earth to be examples of the Truth, not to start a new religion. Man did that. When God created his children, he gave them total abundance. He did not conceive that his children would ignore the harmony of His simple laws of Love and unlimited freedom of expression and choose to follow a path of pain and suffering, just by forgetting that they were Divine. God does not want his children to be unhappy. It is man who chooses not to listen to the God within, not to take responsibility for his actions."
The Law of Manifesting.. Voila!
"Law of Manifestation -- The spirit is manifested in the flesh. Only through this manifestation can one come to know oneself."
This 'law' goes along with the fact that we're spiritual beings having a physical experience. And it's my belief that we are 'God's experience' here on earth.
All He/She asks for, is for us to enjoy the ride & be happy.
How many ways to Sunday do we break our necks to do just the opposite?
We self-sabotage, self-dinegrate, & generally become whining-pains-in-the -asses throughout our shortlived lives here.
What about 'Be Happy' didn't we understand?
The second half of the Manifesting Law is creating our reality.
We are the sole managers of our lives here on Earth School.
We are the author, lead actor, & chief critic of the whole show.
Too many times we get caught up in that editing/critiquing area.. forgetting that if we don't like where this play is heading.. WE CAN CHANGE HOW IT ENDS, folks!
A simple rewrite in your thought process.. & voila! the heroine develops wings & flies.
The choice is ours.. do we want a maudlin tear-stained drama (it would shock you how many really, really do).. do we want a light romantic comedy (that's more my style).. or are we creating a stark documentary that just 'reacts' to whatever comes at us?
I know a few who are working on very scary Horror flicks, & I have to watch their lives.. peeking through my hands over my eyes.
Think about where you are in your life's creative process.. what type of stage have you set?
Who are your co-stars (invited by you.. everyone of them!)?
Who are your best supporting actors?
Who is dragging down the whole performance?
Is this a long-running award winning play? Or will it be pulled off Broadway after the 1st night?
Are you manifesting your best?
If not.. use the thought-eraser & give yourself some better lines, better props, better choices.
It's all in you.. you write it!
LOVE
"Law of Love -- Love unconditionally all living things and all spiritual things. Love the essence of all matter. Sending love from the depths of your heart and soul ensures that love will come back to you. The universe will restore your love sent forth. It may not always come back from the one you sent it to; but your love will always be replenished."
Oh I am so lucky to be writing about LOVE. The two emotions that are constantly operating in the world today are Love or Fear. Every thought or action originates in one or the other.
Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance.
-St. Francis of Assisi
You can always tell which you are operating from; one makes you feel good and the other doesn't. One builds bridges and the other destroys them.
Love is the greatest power on the planet that we experience when we are open to receive it. When we give it to another, there is no greater gift. Love sees beyond the ordinary and the ego and permeates the soul. It lifts us up and inspires us to be who we really are. It dreams for us a dream we never believed possible. It heals us and it heals the world. It is the redeemer of lost hope.
When unconditional love is given, it can penetrate any constructed walls of difference. It is the only real thing that exists at the end of this life...nothing else matters.
I will not bring my ego with me, or my need to be right when I transition. I will leave this world surrounded in the love I feel and the love that was so generously given to me.
Love is the true guide to happiness...love is the only thing that matters. Let the rest of it go...
Karma, Karma, Karma
"Law of Karma -- What we send forth into the universe comes back to us.
We reap positive rewards for our good deeds and negative consequences of our misdeeds.
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought, it is founded on Thought, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man acts or speaks with all evil thought, pain follows him as the wheel follows the foot of the ox that draws the chariot." Galations 6:7 "
~~~
If anyone hasn't had to live out this Law of the Universe, raise your hand & be sainted!
As for myself, for every crappy thing I've done in life, something has come to bite me in the a**. And on the upside, for every random act of kindness that I have extended.. wonderful things have presented themselves to me.
I think Jesus was all over this one when he said the main rule was simply to love one another as you do yourself. I sometimes had to turn that around however, & encourage myself to love myself as much as I did others. (There were times in my past when I was much kinder to others.)

Here's a good resource page for Karma:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karma
Most metaphysicians believe that Karmic debt is cumulative and that we face it through lifetimes, via reincarnation.

Today, let's send forth 'good' things all around us, & be rewarded with all those nice Karma points. Personally, I can use all the help I can get.

Blessings from a Benevolent Universe!

I INCREASE, YOU INCREASE, WE ALL INCREASE

"Law of Increase -- What we put the energy of our thoughts into will increase. To obtain increase we must maintain an attitude of increase toward others. We must rejoice in their joy as they receive increase."

I was watching the movie-The Pursuit of Happyness yesterday. By the end of the movie, having felt the pain, angst, challenge, strength, and perverance of Chris Gardner...I was in empathic ecstasy when he was offered the position of stock brocker at Dean Witter. The thought occurred to me...I am so glad that I can be happy for other people instead of jealous or angry; that I can connect with another's plight or reward without any gain for myself, other than the fantastic feeling I was experiencing. I think that in order to feel happy for others there has to be a connection to happiness in our own lives. This increase is what our thoughts are doing every moment of every day. What are you thinking about? Are you present and enjoying the moment, believing that you are blessed? Or are you feeling ripped off by life? Why is it that the person in the next cubicle always gets the good jobs and the massive praise? Thoughts become things. Feelings control thoughts when we aren't consciously aware of them. It is time to take control of your thoughts and gain perspective on life and what you have. If you don't believe me...watch the movie! It will help you to regain a perspective of gratitude...because there but for the grace of God go I. Take a moment to see your life, your divinity, your blessings for what they are. If you can read this, if you are on a computer, if you have a place to sleep tonight...then life is pretty good right now. I'm not saying that the occasional pity party won't happen. They certainly happen for me! But they serve as a notice. It's time to resurrect myself into a place of proper thinking...increasing gratitude is where I want to be. As mentioned byMichael Beckwith..."The Universe will correspond to the nature of your song."

Universal Law of Help.. help!

"Law of Help -- Ask and you will receive help. When other ask you for help, give it."

In the words of Jesus, 'Ye have not, because ye ask not'.
Sometimes we just have to scream (or whisper) h-e-l-p! And be open to receive the answers & the assistance.
I'm reminded of when I lived in Florida & my (agnostic) grandson came to spend a week with me. I say he's agnostic because he has a lot of good questions about religion & spirituality.. & that's all right! It's when we blindly follow every belief in the market, that we get into trouble.
So he & I were going to the beach for the day. When we got to the beach parking area, there wasn't a space to be had.
I said, more to myself than to him.. 'Well, we'll just have to ask the parking angels to find us a space.'
Alec groaned & said, 'Grandma you know I don't believe in that stuff'.
I said, 'I do.. so watch this'.
We started to circle the lot again when lo & behold an empty space appeared.
His eyes got big when I thanked the parking angels. Sometimes one just has to 'ask'.

There's nothing too large or too small to ask help with, since our happiness is at stake. A benevolent Universe wants only to make 'happy'. Who could ask for more.. then go ahead & ask.. for MORE!

*And when others ask you for help, return the favor. It'll come back to you ten-fold. I promise.

LAW OF HARMONY...Let it Flow

The Law of Harmony...(Law of Rhythm)
This is closely related to the law of vibration...However, harmony/rhythm is motion and all motion within the universe is dominated by a particular flowing order. This particular flowing order produces the various manifestations of the universe...
While everything is in the state of vibration there must be a rhythmic consistency to produce a specific manifestation. The key to awareness is to understand how the regulate this vibration, thus changing the motion/rhythm and producing an orderly harmonious flow...
This is the law people encounter the most when they find themselves trying "to force something into happening"... Their actions create vibrations that often prevent the desired affect or change from taking place... The law of harmony therefore reminds us that when we reach those states where we're tempted to try to "force things into happening" that we should instead try to find ways to become more in "rapport" with the universe rather than fighting it's efforts.

-www.weeklyhoroscope.com
This law ties in several of the previous laws...energy, dharma, and desire. Sometimes our desire is misaligned because of our addictions or compulsive behaviors with the natural Universal Flow that is always working. This is where self sabotage comes into the picture. The universe may be taking us down a path and our fears or compulisve behaviors may try to stop Universal flow or maybe even try to reroute it. We do not let go and let God, if you will. Or maybe we desire something so much that we try and squeeze the squareness of our desires into the roundness of our reality. This always leaves us frustrated or in situations that are not ultimately for our greatest good. When we live in Harmony with the Universe, always working on greater awareness of mind, body, and spiritual health, we live more in peace, joy, and contentment. When we feel the rumblings from the underbelly and peace is not felt, that is when we should take a closer look at our thought process, compulsive behaviors, and remain open to where the current may be trying to take you. Are you getting in your own way of having everything you desire because of a deeper feeling of inadequacy? It's all a learning process. That is why we are here. All we can do is stay aware, live in the moment, and go with the flow...

The Law of Healing..

"Law of Healing -- Healing energy is within us. Divine power turns on the healing energy within us to heal us and to pass through us to heal others."

I fully believe that we make 'pre-life' contracts for the lessons we want to learn in our next incarnation. For some of us, that includes life altering illnesses, deformities, &/or innumerable special-needs. We seek out the gifts that the challenges offer.
For example, it is why people can say 'The worst day of my life was when I was diagnosed w/ cancer. Yet, the best day of my life was when I was diagnosed w/ cancer.. because I truly began to live.'
And that type of life lesson cannot be obtained in any other way. You requested the lesson & you received the blessing from it.

That is not particularly what this specific law of healing is about. Although, I'm sure it could be, if you asked for that 'cup to pass from you'.. & desired healing; foregoing the life lesson. We do have freewill, after all.
What I wish to convey is that healing 'energy' that resides in us & through us. Some call it a 'Kundilini' power.. an energy that resides in the base of the spine, which we may call up, almost serpent-like through the spine, up through the 7th chakra at the crown of the head. Others think of healing power as residing in the 'soul', still others see it in the 'heart chakra'. Wherever you feel this power... it is a real & viable force.
Christ told his followers that they had the same healing powers that He did, & even 'Greater works shall ye do in my name'. The Divine DNA runs through us all.. & we have the right to tap into this healing power.
Intercessory prayer is also a powerful tool in the healing realm. Tests are still going on to prove that cardiac patients do better when they have received intercessory prayer on their behalf.. some call this 'long distance' prayer, & the recipient doesn't have to be known to the person interceding with healing prayers.

Disease or 'dis-ease' in the spiritual-seeker's life can be healed! We have only to ask.. & to thank our Higher Power for the healing. Like a magnet, we attract that which we want. See yourself as the whole, healthy person you want to be, & you ARE that person.
Treat your physical body as the temple it is, & watch divine healing stream through your being.

And at the end of your days, when the body is ready to transition to your energy 'home'.. know that even what some call 'death' is the ultimate healing.
What wonderful beings we are!

The Law of Gratitude.. thank you very kindly.

My 1st thought was.. hey, this law is a lot like 'Giving', isn't it? Someone gives you something, you say thank-you.. now you owe them something.. and gifts recycle.
No, that isn't what this is about at all.
Gratitude is in & of itself an energy. You don't have to be given something 'new & unique' to use this Law. Gratitude carries it's own cause & effect, it's own centering device, & it's own blessing.

Remember back when Oprah was in her all-out spiritual phase (before the right wing told her she was screwing w/ their beliefs.. & made her cut back to 1/2 speed. They were happier watching her make Tom Cruise jump on a couch, than making them 'think' about inner growth)
Well, way back then, she suggested a good personal growth tool would be to start a Gratitude Journal.
Each night, we were to write down 5 things we were grateful for that day.
At 1st I thought maybe my list would be pretty repetitive.. good health, good kids, good weather, good home, good goals.
But each night I noticed that my thoughts were expanding beyond the simple 'good' list and I was noticing the fine print in the daily 'beingness' that was was my life.
When I look back through that journal of a year in the life.. I read about some pretty spectacular sunrises & sunsets, as well as violent thunderstorms and piles of snow. I read about my failing marriage.. my success in a new degree.. my weight gain & loss.. my shock & awe of an aging 'self'.. my joys & pains of watching my children grow in so many ways.. & the hopes I had for a new relationship.
And all of this was spelled out in heartfelt Gratitude. The good, the bad, the ugly.. I was grateful for every lesson, every triumph, every loss. It was making me who I am.

When we express our Gratitude to the Universe, it sends that energetic signal that says, 'I get it!' and we find even more to be grateful for.
Expressing Gratitude calms the inner soul and assures us that we really can 'In all things give thanks..'
Knowing that I am God's experience here on earth, that I am unconditionally loved & supported, that everything works together for my good.. how can I not say a great big THANK YOU!
May we always maintain an attitude of gratitude, & keep that energy flowing.

"Law of Free Will and Predestination -- We are free to choose our direction. Predestination determined what our destiny in life would be, if we choose to fulfill that destiny. Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will."
We always have choice. It is our blessing and our curse. When we are aligned with our Higher Self, choice is something we do to create a life moving along toward our destiny for greatness and what our Soul decided pre-birth what it wanted to achieve here on Earth. We have the ability to steer away from this predestination and go a different route. There is no judgement of which way is the better way or the wrong way...though we will experience them in different ways. Some paths may cause pain, some joy, some may leave us lonely, some with burning desire...its all about what we choose. I think there are certain hints or synchronicities in life to guide us to our destiny...our greatest desire...our oneness with the Universe...and that is where we find fulfillment. Joseph Campbell, the great leader and teacher of comparative mythology, coined the term....Follow your Bliss; this bliss is your destiny. You can walk toward it trusting the Universe knows what it's doing...or you can run from it. It's your choice.

The Law of Giving..

This Universal law sort of laughs in the face of today's 'GimmeeGimmee' generation (& I'm not talking about the punk rock group here..;o)
Everyone wants to 'get' something.. we all love our birthdays & holidays for the gifts that are bestowed upon us. Or is that just me?

I sincerely love to 'give' as well. I give things to people that I would like to have for myself.
So is that really unconditional giving? Or just my hinting to the Universe.. hmmmmmm.
A conundrum.

But what the true sense of this law says, is that both giving & receiving are equally powerful energies.
When we give, a vacuum is created where once our 'possession' was.
Nature abhors a vacuum, right?
And so something comes to us to replace that 'hole'.
Hence, some would say 'we give.. to get'.
Oral Roberts built an empire on that thought.. 'seed faith' he called it. You give 10% (to him, preferably), & watch the abundance come to you. This is what the Bible teaches us about tithing that 10%, as well.
And its true not just for monetary recompense. I've found that if I give 10% of my time, or my talent (whatever that may be), or my coffers.. it all comes back to me 'pressed down & running over'.
Which doesn't stop one from going above & beyond the 10%. If you feel drawn to donate to Goodwill, or St Jude, or Ronald McDonald Houses.. whatever.. you don't have to stop at 10%.. & I have learned this : You can't out give God (or the Universe). It WILL come back to you. It's the Law..

'Giving' sets off a reciprocal energy that brings 'Receiving' into play.
'Receiving' allows someone the opportunity to stretch their souls.
It's not always easy to be on the receiving end of gifts, if you don't feel worthy of them.
So to make this Law work for you, you have to be 'open' to receive the bounty!

Then it becomes the ever recycling process of giving & receiving.. And that is just plain joy.
Our return gifts may not be the same things that we give out. For example, when I gave my friend an older car that I didn't want to use as a trade-in for a newer one.. my return gift was not only the tax write off, but also her gratitude at having reliable transportation to get to work, haul her kids around, & take some fun trips. You can't buy things like that!

Why not test the Law to see how it works for you?
Place a $5 bill in a homeless guys bucket.. give an extra few bucks into the coffee fund at work (even if you don't drink it; this is for testing purposes).. shoot, you can send $10 to Oral Roberts if you want.. it isn't the recipient that counts.. it's your giving!
And when you do this giving, say a little prayer of gratitude that you are able to share this wealth.. & ask the Universe to make you more aware of the cycle of giving & receiving, so that you can acknowledge when this gift is returned. (Often good things happen to us, that we don't even take the time to realize that this is our gift recycled)

And let us know how this worked for you..

The Law of Forgiveness.. mea culpa!

I almost feel unworthy to write this column on this topic, because it's just so darned hard to live it.
Everyday I have to remind myself that there are only 2 things required by me in this life. I was given this info during a SpiritQuest several years back.. when I asked God, 'Now why is it that I'm here again?' and She said, 'You are here to Love & to Forgive. Nothing more, nothing less.' And it sounded so utterly simple at the time. Who couldn't Love & Forgive.. duh.
Yeah, duh.
The moment you challenge yourself like that.. you can count on being tested to show you just how 'easy' it is, or isn't.
At that point in my life, I was blind-sided by a familial relationship break-down that literally slammed me into a wall. I had never been 'hated' or belittled or derided in this fashion EVER before in my life.
Now you can talk about forgiveness all day long, & until you are forced to face the issue that demands you forgive someone who despises you.. then it's all talk.
I have to admit, I couldn't do it at 1st.. I had to let it fester awhile & come to a fine boil & destroy any semblance of inner calm that meditation could bring to me. When I would pray, I would see that family member's face, when I would sleep, I would dream her words.
Finally, I asked God to love her through me, because I just couldn't seem to rise above the ego hurt of the whole situation.
And God being the benevolent One did that for me, until I was strengthened enough to do it for myself.
And you know, what's wonderful about forgiveness is that you do it for yourself, not for that other person. When you allow forgiveness to come to the fore, you allow yourself the privilege to 'forget'. And life can go forward once again, instead of being stuck in that quagmire of resentful limbo.
One of the best examples I ever read on Forgiveness was in the book, 'The Little Soul and the Sun'.
Before this child is ever born, living in the land of soul-energy, he is playing with his best friend. They have decided to incarnate & the best friend tells him, 'During this lifetime I am going to teach you about forgiveness, okay? And I am going to do something to you so terrible, but you will need to forgive me, and learn this life lesson. Just never forget that I'm your best friend, okay?'
That's what I keep telling myself about this event in my life. Sometimes our spiritual best friends are well camouflaged as our enemies in this lifetime. Learn the lesson & move on.
Then when we are soul-energy again, we will all have some good laughs.

Energy...Feel Your Way

"Law of Energy -- All is energy."
Okay I'm no Quantum Physicist...but I understand that we are all made of atoms. An atom consists of electrons surrounding a nucleus which is made up of protons and nuetrons. Basically we are all bits of energy bouncing off each other. An electrical magnet of possibility. When we are vibrating highher energy (high frequency) it is associated with positive feelings. Lower vibrational energy (low frequency) is associated with more negative feelings. This is where the law of attraction occurs. We attract whatever and whomever is vibrating closely to our own vibrational frequency. a.k.a..... we get more of the same. We bring into our reality...whatever we feel. This is why gratitude is so important. I have seen this vibrational stuff at work too many times not to believe.
A bit about being positive and negative...
When we find ourselves in a downward spiral of negativity, we have to be aware enough within our own existence to know something has to change the way we feel. You have to pull yourself up by nourishing yourself, whether it is through music, talking to a supportive friend, or going for a walk in nature. Anything that will raise your frequency of vibration.
You focus on the positive...or at the least, do not feed the negative feelings. You can feel them...but try not to tie them into your world or to yourself...feel them, notice them and let them move on out as they will. Many times we get stuck in the mud of low vibration, then we pull the mud and pile it on ourselves and get angry with ourselves for being dirty. It is too much time and energy wasted. Find what it is that makes you happy and actively pursue it. As you develop spiritual muscle, the bad times will not be so down and rotten. You will notice it and not react to it in the same way you once did. It will move on and life will continue forward.
The rotten is simply rotten because of the stories we tell ourselves about why it is rotten and how this was rotten before and how it will always be rotten.
This is why living in the moment destroys these stories that we feed ourselves. We observe reality with awareness and move through as a spectator so that we can choose our creation, rather than react and get what we get.

The Law of Dharma

The Law of Dharma says that we all have a purpose in this life.. a unique 'Path', if you will.
Some call it our destiny or our fate.
I don't think that this precludes our 'freedom of thought & will'.
So while we may have a perfect Path laid out by the Universe, we have every right to ignore it, refuse it, or postpone it.
(And maybe we'll pick it up in the next lifetime.)
Wouldn't it be nice if we 'remembered' our purpose when we crossed over from the energy-field to human form?
But alas, it requires some inner work on our part, to re-discover our purpose.
Perhaps that makes us appreciate it more.

How do we ascertain & recognize our purpose in life? Ask yourself these questions:
What is it you most desire? That may be your 1st clue..
What 'flows' in your life? What seems like fun, even if it involves work? Is there something you do where you lose a sense of time, even while you're taking part in it?
Or does something feel obstructive, provokes a feeling of sadness, makes your intuitive 'hackles' come up? This could be the Universe telling you that this is not your purpose.

For today, open your heart & mind to the Universal call to your own personal Dharma.
This lifetime is a precious gift. Live it fully, & for the purpose that God has created for you & you alone.

Blessings!
And for your listening pleasure.. 'Awakening to your Divinity'..

The Law of Desire

Have any of you (or all of you) seen the new movie "The Secret"? What a powerful film on the laws of attraction, & how we can absolutely draw anything into our lives that we 'desire'.
And therein lies the secret.. that basic energy-induced power of desiring something so much that it permeates our thoughts & minds.

What we love, we 'think' about, & when we give thought to something with enough 'feeling' behind it.. we manifest it! It's as easy as that. (Or as difficult as one wants to make it).

I'm reminded of a time when I was sooo wanting a little Miata sportscar. They had just came out the year before & everyone was just obsessed with their cuteness & chic.
Understand, coming from a marriage with a large family of 6 kids, we had always had vans, stationwagons, or huge 4 door sedans. I was now working on my own, the kids were mostly grown up.. & I ached for something totally unpractical & fun. Hence, my desire for a Miata was born.
At 1st, I would self-talk by saying, 'wow, I really want one of those, but I could never afford it'.
What did the Universe hear? 'I want one of those'.. ok, I'll send her one. Then.. 'Oh no, she doesn't want it.. she says she can't afford it. Cancel that order'.
Step 2 was 'I really want one of those.. why did she get one, when I didn't? That's so unfair.'
My self-doubt & angered 'victim' mode wouldn't work with the Universe either.
Finally, I understood the concept, and when I would see someone proudly driving their Miata, I would bless them & say, 'Good for you. I want one just like that. I'm happy for you, & happy for me that we both get to enjoy our new cars!'
And within a month, I was gifted with a new Miata by my ex-husband. Does it get any better than that?

Perhaps this subject of 'desire' is taboo in some realms of belief. But I truly think that the Bible is right when it says, 'You have not, because you ask not'.
Sort of like the old blonde joke about the girl asking God why she never wins the lottery.. & He suggests that she buy a ticket first.
Desiring something, be it material, physical, emotional.. whatever.. requires that we 'feel' that wanting deep inside. Allowing all our senses to create & visualize this thing in our life.
When I was in my manifesting state of the Miata.. I could 'see' the very model I wanted.
I could 'smell' the new car scent.
I could 'hear' that low rumble of the motor as I shifted through the gears in my mind.
I ran my hands over that soft leather, as I 'felt' what my new car would be like.
I was fully invested in my desire.. & it worked.

For today, allow your mind to peruse the giant catalog of Life. Pick and choose what it is that you most desire.
Create a Visualization board of pictures of what you want to draw into your life.
Don't hold back.. allow yourself the very best!
Write out a Top Ten List of what you most want to manifest for you.
Each day write (by hand) 16 times, at least one of those top 10 things. (It creates a hand to mind connection, that really works).

Get excited.. get passionate.. allow the Law of Desire to work for you!

WHY ME? (2)

It's about time for another episode of Why Me? Not to commiserate with misfortune and bad luck, but to see there is no misfortune, only lessons to learn on the way to finally "getting it."
This week I thought I'd write about broken dreams, promises unkept. It seems when you are young you still believe anything is possible, and then as you get older...you get frustrated maybe even depressed that life is not the bowl of opportunity you expected.
When I was in High School I had big dreams...broadway, lights, Hollywood. Huge dreams for a girl in Oklahoma who didn't even know another actor. This dream was sooo huge, I felt it was bigger than me. So in time and with enough negative belief, I closed the door on that dream and myself. I couldn't bear to lose it...so I walked out on it before it could walk out on me. This never made sense to me on a conscious level so I assigned another excuse to it...I can always act, so I'll go to speech therapy school...that way I won't have to wait tables my whole life.
uh-huh.
But deep beneath the surface was the truth; I was scared out of my mind and I didn't think much of myself or my abilities. I was reading this last night: "Wants are about the most frightening, misunderstood, neglected element in the entire human race, and I'd lay odds that, for most people, just thinking about them is more terrifying that a dentists's chair without painkillers....most of us lay those passions aside as we trudge into the dogmatic Shoulds and Have To's of adulthood...and there we stay, in the bleak sactuary of Sameville, protected by the erroneous belief that if we dream small and nothing happens, we won't be hurt big. Dear God in heaven, what a way we've chosen to live."
Ouch.
My "Why Me?" was living a life away from my passion and desires and feeling the blandness of safety. I had years of Why Me. This was my choice that I made. I stepped toward the safe side instead of venturing out into the world of possibility. What a lesson to learn. It's about courage, perserverance, and belief. I never knew that your dreams could scare you. I didn't know that was "normal", so I took the fear as doubt and ran with it.
In the last few years as an adult I have given myself permission to seek out the nature of my dreams today. Acting? Maybe...spiritual teaching? Oh yeah!
I've always had trouble with creating vision boards...you know, those big poster boards with cut out magazine words, pictures, glitter to make it fabulous. It's supposed to represent your dreams and your life. I always felt like such a fraud doing those. I'd look at them and it never felt real because I still had not given myself permission to dream.
I made one last night.
I have a dream.
It's a beautiful thing.

The Universal Law of Cycles..

Being a woman, we all know 1st hand about 'cycles'. Most of us were born with them. And we forever blame the lunar cycles for the PMS, the full-moon lunacy, and even the births of our offspring. So the Law of Cycles isn't hard for us to buy into. For 'everything there is a season' as the Bible says. And the seasons cycle us on to various pleasures (or pain.. I'm thinking of the snowfalls in upstate NY) throughout the year.

Consider the cycles in your own personal life. The friends that come.. then go.
The soulmates that thrive.. then die off.
The job that was going to be your lifelong career.. then became the anchor in your derrierre.
The house that just fit your dreams.. then lost value in the markets.
Or how about the new friends that replaced the lost ones..
Or the love interest that came into your life at your lowest point..changing your fortunes.
The hobby that became your most productive job ever.
Perhaps the fact that you doubled your equity when you sold that house.

Everything cycles.. nothing is without change, because if it was it would be stagnant & dead.
We are all changing.. all of the time.
Life is a giant cycle.. a constant flow of 'letting go' of the old, & then 'receiving' the new with open arms.
I always chuckle when I see a movie or read a book where the romantic leads say things like, 'Oh baby, don't ever change. I love you just the way your are right here, right now. You complete me.' Because that interchange, while flowery & a good sound-bite, is simply impossible to be true. By the time it is said, that love interest is already changing.. perhaps from simply having heard those words!

Our lesson in all of this is to appreciate the 'here & now'.. love & enjoy the gifts in the precious 'present'.. but don't cling to them because they will not stay in quite the same way.
Don't lose the present by longing for the past.. it has cycled out of your life.
Don't lose the present by pineing for a distant dream in tomorrow. What is yours will come to you.
Just breathe.. just 'BE'.. & allow life's cycles to take you on your own particular journey through this fantastic lifetime.
It's all ebb & flow.
If you are in a tough place right now & nothing seems to be going right.. know that this too shall pass.
It will cycle away from you, & trust the Universe for your Highest Good to come into your life & take it's place.

Allow yourself to be a Spiritual Being..

Cause and Effect

"Law of Cause and Effect -- The elemental patterns of nature exist in balance. Disturbances in these patterns (cause) results in consequential alterations of the patterns of nature (effect.) If the physical body is malnourished, it atrophies. The same is true on the spiritual plane. Nourishment results in strength. To determine why something has come into your life, you simply have to search for the cause of the effect."

Okay, so here is my crazy cause and its unfortunate events:
I crushed so hard on this guy...let's call him...um, Jim Bob. My feelings for him were very strong, so I continued to try and manipulate the forces of nature to get him to feel the same way for me. He was a smart one this Jim Bob...he gave me just enough of a sense of hope to appease me and then...nothin'. This went on for years...6 or so years, but who's counting? Anyway, one day I sat in my lonely apartment and I once again had the thought that I had regularly had about Jim Bob...I felt like a partial person because I accepted less than what I wanted. I took what I could get and I knew I could not ask for more for fear he would be bothered and leave...so I waited and I hoped. The Cause in this situation was that I accepted my position in this partial relationship where the male part quite obviously didn't feel the way I did.
The Effect? A sense of self betrayal and lonliness. I could have empowered myself, I could have made a different choice. In that apartment I wrote a letter to Jim Bob that I never mailed because honestly it was never about him. I still have that letter today. The point of the letter was that I was making a declaration that I finally had decided that I was the one I loved. I chose me. I wanted to feel whole again and the only way to feel whole was to gain my sense of love and respect that I had forgotten when I entered into this so called relationship. When I decided that I could not ask for more and that I had no sense of self value...is when I turned my back on my authenticity and self love. After writing that letter, I put it away and I knew something had shifted. I knew that for once, I was choosing something worthy of all this energy...me. The effect? Other than self esteem and liberation? A real relationship and a real family that I would not have created if I had not made that critical decision in that apartment that day. How about you?

It's all about the Balance

Ever try to sit on a 3-legged stool when one of the legs is missing? Uh-huh.. right to the ground.
That is what happens when we are out of balance in our own lives.
Take the popular Mind/Body/Spirit trilogy.. if I get out of synch & decide to stress my physical limits by say, exercising too much (I know, but this is MY fantasy, ok?). I can become obsessive about my body to the point of forgetting to nurture all other areas of my life..
This creates a disharmony.
The Universe may attempt to jog my memory about my Mind & Spirit needs by gentle ways. (Maybe an invitation to join a Tai Chi class with a friend. Or seeing a really interesting course to take online).
If I persist to ignore the needs for balance.. I may get a more 'jolting' wake-up call.
I'm reminded of my own experience when I was so obsessed with a gym advanced-aerobic class, that even when I broke 2 toes.. I was still attempting to do jumping jacks with the rest of the class! Needless to say those toes never healed right & they are an ongoing reminder to seek 'balance' in all things.

The Universe seeks harmony around us & within us. When life feels as if it's 'flowing'.. we know we are in harmony & balance.
If you feel like it's a struggle, with one obstacle after another.. maybe it's time to release that need-to-control, & allow that benevolent Universe to do it's best work for you.
For today.. let's live in Balance.

WHY ME?

We at Spirit-Works thought we would kick off a regular column on the blog called "Why Me?".
The purpose of "Why Me?" is to demonstrate how each and every situation and occurence in our lives is for purpose and has a lesson attached to it. I thought I'd start it off by producing my own "Why Me?" tidbit.

I have spent many a night asking myself "Why?", why did she say that? why did he do that? I can't believe they chose that choice...and I have finally discovered that I consistently resorted to victim mode in order to meet my needs at the moment. I didn't even realize I was doing it. It was ingrained habit and it was manipulative at times. How did I finally recognize what I was doing? By continuously putting myself into situations where I was not treated well, by being taken for granted, and by not acting on my dreams...I had to wonder what the common denominator was.
I attracted these situations into my life due to the law of attraction. My beliefs brought me to all of my reality...but if I had not drawn those things to myself I would not have learned more about what I do to survive. So I became more aware of my part in relating to others and my world. I could have easily turned the finger toward those people I had attracted into my realm, but I would have lost the lesson. I would not have taken personal responsibility for my part in contributing to my less that ideal situations...and I would not have had the opportunity to change it and become a better person. Does anyone have a why me moment???

Practicing the Law of Abundance

I'm hoping that my sweet daughter won't mind my re-telling this story about a Psychic Fair experience that we had back in the early 90's in AZ.
She called herself the 'Angel Lady', and surrounded her little booth with angel candles, and I'm a sucker for those cute things.
So Angela & I sat at her booth and listened to her words.
She said, 'To receive something wonderful in your life, you have to make room for it. If you say you want a beautiful new sofa in your living room, but you are perfectly satisfied to have the shabby futon taking up it's space.. then you will not see the new one come into your life.
If you say you want to be driving a new Cadillac, but are seemingly happy to be plodding through town in a broken down Ford pick-up, that Cadillac will elude you.
In that same vein, when you say you want your soulmate to come into your life, but your romantic life has some lingering relationship that isn't blessing you.. then you need to move that relationship out of the way to prepare for the abundance of what God has for you.'
She looked into Angela's eyes and said, 'It is now October.. by the holidays, if you have opened up to receive the gift, there will be a new man in your life. He has light hair and blue eyes. He will be the mate to your soul. And the new year will see you welcoming a new soul into your home.'
Like most readings, we filed this message away in our hearts.. but something clicked, & the old relationship was ended by my daughter.
The very next month, she met the man of her dreams.. and 1995 brought a precious grandson into our lives.

The 'message' from this story? (Other than always trust the sweet 'angel ladies with candles'? ;o)
Make room for Abundance in your life! Pressed down, shaken together.. filled to the top!
Don't become complacent with the status quo. We are children of the Divine & it is our birthright to have every good thing.

For today, let your mantra be, 'I AM OPEN TO ABUNDANCE!'

Serendipity! Love that Synchronicity..

Don't you love it when things start clicking together.. and since you don't believe in mere coincidence, you know that it's all 'ordered' by a benevolent Universe? Yeah, like that..
Me too!

My Master's thesis was the comparison of Carl Jung's dreamwork vs. Freud's view & works. You can imagine the one that I championed. He had me at 'synchronicity'.
Our pals at Wikipedia describe that bit of magic this way..

Synchronicity is a word that Swiss psychologist Carl Jung used to describe the "temporally coincident occurrences of acausal events." Jung spoke of synchronicity as an "'acausal connecting principle'" (i.e. a pattern of connection that cannot be explained by direct causality) a "‘meaningful coincidence’" or as an "‘acausal parallelism’".
Put plainly, synchronicity is the experience of two or more occurrences (beyond coincidentally) in a manner that is logically meaningful- but inexplicable- to the person or persons experiencing them. Such events would also have to suggest an underlying pattern in order to satisfy the definition of synchronicity as developed by Jung.
It differs from mere coincidence in that synchronicity implies not just a happenstance, but an underlying pattern or dynamic that is being expressed through meaningful relationships or events.

Ta da! As metaphysicians, we begin not only enjoying these 'aha!' events, but begin anticipating them. And they never fail to appear. Utter coolness.
And so yesterday when I stumbled (excuse me, was lead to) this nice website www.wisdomteachers.com , I signed up for their newsletter (which I encourage all of you to do, as well.. fantastic articles & motivational tools). As a free gift for signing up.. that's right.. more synchronicity.. I was given the most wonderful e-book by a truly inspirational gentleman, Dr. Dennis Merritt Jones. 6 printed pages of sheer genius in truth.
However, don't take my word for it. Check out the site, including Dr. D's own websites: www.DennisMerrittJones.com and www.onespirit.org/church .
Believe me, if I were in Simi Valley, CA., I would be attending those services. Second best is reading his works. So take some time on those sites & tell me what you think..

An Overview..

Here is an overview of the Metaphysical Universal Laws. The "laws" are in action all the time, whether you heed them or not. Like the 'Higher Power', they just Are. You can use these Laws for your higher good, each & every day. Take a look at them & see what resonates with you..
* References here are made to the Bible. We all know there are many other books just as Divine & meaningful. But for this overview, consider this reference. Thanks..
~~~~
Law of Abundance -- Within the universe, abundant resources exist, with resources flowing through the energies of giving and receiving. If you are in need of something, make your life ready to receive it. The universe will recognize the opening and fill it with abundance. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you
Law of Attraction -- You attract to yourself that which you put the energy of your thoughts into. If you desire something, you can attract it to you by positively anticipating its arrival into your life. Alternately, you can attract that which you do not want into your life by giving negative energy to your thoughts of receiving it. Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Law of Balance -- For every action there is a reaction. The energy of the universe is continuously flowing from action to reaction in search of balance to achieve harmony.
Law of Cause and Effect -- The elemental patterns of nature exist in balance. Disturbances in these patterns (cause) results in consequential alterations of the patterns of nature (effect.) If the physical body is malnourished, it atrophies. The same is true on the spiritual plane. Nourishment results in strength. To determine why something has come into your life, you simply have to search for the cause of the effect.
Law of Cycles -- All of life exists in cycles. For everything there is a beginning, an existence, and an end. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Law of Desire -- What one desires, he wills to be. What he wills to himself, he first desired. To achieve one's goals in life, one must desire them. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Law of Dharma (Purpose of Life) -- Each living thing has a purpose for existence and a special experience to provide to this world. Utilizing our unique talents in service of others exalts our spirits to attain our ultimate goals. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Law of Energy -- All is energy.
Law of Forgiveness (Law of Mercy) -- To be forgiven, we must forgive. Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Law of Free Will and Predestination -- We are free to choose our direction. Predestination determined what our destiny in life would be, if we choose to fulfill that destiny. Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Law of Giving -- Giving and receiving are part of the exchange that perpetuates the energy flow of the universe. As we are receptive to the premise of giving that which we desire to receive, the abundance of the universe is perpetuated in our lives. You must give in order to receive, and you must receive in order to give. The energy of each is equal, and the universe will respond to either with a pull of the energy of the other. Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Law of Gratitude -- Positive energy that is given eventually returns with rewards.
Law of Harmony -- All things must exist in harmony within the universe.
Law of Healing -- Healing energy is within us. Divine power turns on the healing energy within us to heal us and to pass through us to heal others.
Law of Help -- Ask and you will receive help. When other ask you for help, give it.
Law of Increase -- What we put the energy of our thoughts into will increase. To obtain increase we must maintain an attitude of increase toward others. We must rejoice in their joy as they receive increase.
Law of Karma -- What we send forth into the universe comes back to us. We reap positive rewards for our good deeds and negative consequences of our misdeeds. "All that we are is the result of what we have thought, it is founded on Thought, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man acts or speaks with all evil thought, pain follows him as the wheel follows the foot of the ox that draws the chariot." Galations 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Law of Love -- Love unconditionally all living things and all spiritual things. Love the essence of all matter. Sending love from the depths of your heart and soul ensure that love will come back to you. The universe will restore your love sent forth. It may not always come back from the one you sent it to; but your love will always be replenished.
Law of Manifestation -- The spirit is manifested in the flesh. Only through this manifestation can one come to know oneself.
Law of One (Oneness) -- All that exists is part of God.
Law of Permanence -- An entity attains permanence when it remains integrated without the vessel that holds it.
Law of Polarities -- For everything there is an opposite which is equal.
Law of Praise -- Praise the creator in all things, good and bad. Giving praise to divinity exalts us. We are all Divine.
Law of Prayer ( or petition) -- Prayer is the catalyst that initiates a divine reaction. Prayer changes things. Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Law of Productivity -- Turning the energy of our thoughts and of our work into a physical product is the process of productivity. Productivity brings growth and rewards.
Law of Progress -- Everything is either progressing or regressing. Nothing stands still.
Law of Reflection -- "As above, so below." The universe will reflect back that which shines forth into it.
Law of Release -- You are bound to that which you do not release. Release that which is holding you down. Release it to the higher power to be released in minute, benign particles disseminating into the infinite universe.
Law of Speech -- There is power in the spoken word. Thought forms the blueprint for reality, and speaking power into the blueprint brings that thought into the physical world. To say something is to make it real.
Law of Symbols -- Symbols carry the meaning of messages from our guides. Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Law of Thought -- You are what you think. Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Law of Transmutation (Divine Discontent) -- Light dissolves darkness.
Law of Vibration -- Everything is always in motion.
Law of Vision -- Vision is foresight and/or foreknowledge. What you can envision can become real.
Welcome to a new Blog!
Hello from the co-founders of Spirit-Works.net..
This seemed like a good venue to share things spiritual, maybe answer a few questions or perhaps stimulate a deeper quest for even more questions. Like the journey, the delving for more knowledge is not the destination.. and it's time to have more fun in experiencing the Path along the way.
Tomorrow I'd like to post something on the 1st Universal Law "Like Attracts Like".
So those of you who stumble upon these humble posts.. welcome, & drop by often to say hello!
Blessings,
